She brought up the fact Murkowski left the Legislature when her father, then-governor Frank Murkowski, appointed her to the U.S. Senate seat he gave up to become governor.

See the difference between you and these people is that they were all awarded appointments to other government jobs by other higher elected officials based upon (one assumes) the good work they did during the course of their previous jobs, Sarah. They didn't just quit for murky or badly explained reasons as you did.
